What is an Application Fingerprint?
The Application Fingerprint contains all system modifications undertaken by installing and uninstalling a software package or a virtual application. Read more in our whitepaper about application fingerprints.
What does the QtestAGENT do?
QtestAGENT detects all system changes during the installation and deinstallation process.
Does the Application Fingerprint file store personal data?
No, additional personal data is never stored.
How long does the test-run take?
QtestAGENT needs to create a base snapshot of your system to detect the subsequent changes of your installation. This is a one time only requirement. The time needed to create a base snapshot depends on your system. It may take between some minutes up to some hours, if you have a slow or heavy used system with many existing software packages. After this, the installation test is fast. It takes just the installation time of your installer.

Server with many existing software packages - 44 min
